Eww... wires.
Also those ear things creep me out, but that’s a matter of style and preference, any rational person should hate wired earbuds!

Sometimes I’m on the phone for like 5-6 hours a day, so they are kinda a necessity.

I can think of a few awful scenerios that could come from this.

No charging the wired ones. They'll work all day long.

This. Also fuck Bluetooth.

They are just connected to my smartphone. It's not like they are tied to a cinder block.

My job issued me a “really nice Plantronics headset” a few months ago (to replace my personal earbuds). I was expecting one of those single wired foam earpads with the piece that wraps over your head and a tiny mic. It’s like a full-on DJ setup. Over the ear on both sides, which start sweating 5 minutes later. And Bluetooth, which means pairing hassles with phone, PC, both...neither? PITA.
And I have no idea how gamers/caller handle having both ears fully covered while they try to talk. There’s no voice feedback for yourself, so everyone who uses them on both ears sounds like they’re yelling.

I have a healthy rotation of both wired and true wireless earbuds.
True wireless with aptX bluetooth codec for better sound quality : MPOW T5
Fun music-y wired: VJJB K4S
Fun studio monitor style for ASMR videos and generally watching stuff in bed on my tablet:
KZ ED16
I’ve listened to these back to back so I have an idea of which I like for what purpose.
If I’m working out out or otherwise out and about I want the true wireless T5. They sound pretty good overall, certainly plenty good for gym use.
But sitting back and relaxing into the music is much easier with the K4S. They’ve just got a real nice balance to the overall sound where they just make music sound enjoyable and like you’re there in the recording.
The ED16 are super detailed sounding without getting harsh, so for watching videos in bed I’m a big fan. Especially to hear the tingle-inducing little effects in ASMR videos. They’re very detailed with music as well but unless I’m feeling like hearing a reference-level reproduction of a recording, the K4S just have a more “musical” sound to them even if it’s technically less accurate than the ED16.
I don’t do a ton of just sitting around listening to music, so the T5 and ED16 see more use than the K4S, but I still like to have them.

You can wear earbuds under over the ear headphones for 2 different audio sources.

I think the far sketchier situation, that everyone in here seems to be ignoring, is the bookshelf situation behind you. Thems be some mighty bowed shelves.

Do they also squeeze your head like a torture device? I’ll keep my wired ear buds
for all day comfort.

Ah yes
that shelf for sure fills me with shame.

Eventually they will bow enough to be supported by the books underneath. Then...structural problem solved!

No sidetone is the major complaint I have w/ the radio I use when I fly my p aramotor. I have no idea if anyone can hear me when I’m talking on the radio.
